On a truly unforgettable afternoon at the beautiful Jacaranda Country Club, Empowered To Thrive (ETT) welcomed supporters, community leaders, healthcare partners, and advocates to our sold out Safari of Survivors fashion show fundraiser—a celebration honoring the incredible strength and resilience of those impacted by cancer.

The highlight of the event was our inspiring runway presentation featuring cancer survivors as the models. Each individual walked the runway with confidence and grace, sharing a powerful message that a cancer diagnosis does not define a person—it is a testament to their courage, perseverance, and determination to thrive. Their stories reminded everyone in attendance that survivorship is not simply about overcoming challenges; it is about embracing life with renewed purpose and hope.

The runway came to life through the guidance of CatWalk Pros and the creativity and artistry of three talented couture designers; Ruth Louissaint, M14 African Clothing, and Fashion Reboot, whose stunning collections reflected beauty, confidence, and empowerment. Enhancing the event's elegance was the captivating live violin performance by Ian Mann, whose music created the perfect atmosphere and added an unforgettable touch to every moment. And our first ever Deetra Durham Legacy Award was given to Linda Thomas for her amazing commitment to the cancer community!

Guests also enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the talented culinary team at Jacaranda, while connecting with fellow supporters who share a commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by cancer.

Attendees were also deeply moved by keynote speaker Tia Ferguson, who courageously shared her personal cancer journey. Her heartfelt story of faith, resilience, and perseverance served as a powerful reminder that hope can flourish even in life's most difficult moments.

Safari of Survivors was more than a fundraiser—it was a celebration of life, courage, and community.

The program also featured inspiring remarks from Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a longtime advocate for cancer awareness and research, whose message underscored the importance of access to quality healthcare, early detection, and continued community support.
